Maud (Ayton) Plain was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)
Maud Letitia Ayton was born in 1884 in Colony of New South Wales, daughter of James Ayton (~1849–1929) and Louisa Gosper (1855–1925).[1]
Maud (18) married John A Plain (15) (born before 1887) in 1903 in Boggabri, New South Wales, Australia.[2] Their children were:

- Robert Stanley Plain (1905– )
- Ormond Eric Plain (1906–1963)
- Percival Gordon Plain (1908–1975)
