Ronald William Auswild was born on 24th December 1923 in Temora, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of James Auswild. [1]
On 17th January 1942 at Temora, Ronald enlisted in the Australian Military Force for service within Australia during the fast-escalating Second World War. Attaining the senior non-commissioned rank of Sergeant, his final posting was to the New South Wales Echelon and Records before, the war over and won, being discharged on 29th September 1945. [2] For his service he was awarded the Australia Service Medal 1939-1945.
Ronald married Joan Kearns in 1948 in West Wyalong, New South Wales. [3]
