Butler Austin was born April 12, 1906[1] in South Carolina. He was the son of Thomas Austin and Alice Wood. At age 4, he was in is parent's home in Butler, Greenville, south Carolina, along with 4 siblings. [2]
He was in the family home at age 13, in Butler Twp., Greenville, South Carolina where he grew up helping on the farm.[3]
At age 24, he was working as a laborer in a Garage, in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio where he was living with his sister Tamaisena (Austin) Ford. His sisters, Clara (Austin) Johnson-23, and Grace-22 were also in the home.[4]
He had married by 1940, to Mrs Grace Jackson, and was living in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, where he was a Chaufeur. Her son Elmer Jackson-12, was also in the home.[5]
Still in Cincinnati, in 1950, he was working as a Truck Loader for a Grocery Supermarket, at age 43, and Grace (40) was a domestick worker for a Private Family.[6]
He died at the age of 78, on September 28, 1984 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio.[1][7][8]
