Henry Harrison Atkinson was born on May 8, 1880, in Fordyce, Arkansas, to William Edward Atkinson and Isabella Victoria Harrison. He was the youngest of eight children and grew up in a farming family. He married Grace E Elliott on February 18, 1907, in Dallas, Arkansas, and settled in Fordyce, where Henry physician in the local community. They had eight children: William Edward, Grace, James Clary, Henry Harrison Jr., Lucille, Margibel A, Thomas Polk, and Anderson Watkins. Henry was a devoted husband and father. He was also active in his community and church. He died on June 6, 1932, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 52, after an operation. He was buried in Fordyce Cemetery in his hometown.
