Melvin Kenneth Atkins was born on February 26, 1932 in Taft, San Patricio, Texas, United States, son of Ollie Atkins (1892–1971) and Bertie Reynolds (1894–1937).[1]
He lived in Justice Precinct 8, San Patricio, Texas, United States in 1940[2] and Kenedy, Karnes, Texas, United States in 1950.[3]
Melvin served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.[4]
He died on 19 October 2017, in Alice, Nueces, Texas, United States, at the age of 85, and was buried in Choate Cemetery, Choate, Karnes, Texas, United States.[5]
