Bobbie Ray Atkins was born January 15, 1931 to Oscar Atkins and Melinda Tidwell in Carbon Hill, Alabama.
He served the United States Air Force during World War II and the Korean War.[1]
He married Willie Nell McCormack about 1951 in Mississippi. Their children were:
He died, at the age of 77, on May 27, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas.[2] He is buried at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.[3]
