Is there some way to hide the reference info in my Source from Public view on the web?

Hi Thomas!

Thanks for joining us! I hope you're enjoying our site and our community. I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Has the New Member How To Pages been helpful or has it left you with questions?

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

I corrected the Public Profile. I'll spend time tomorrow going through the FAQs, etc before I pester you again. Thanks.

Hi Thomas

May i suggest amending your tags so you have one tag for each name you are researching and the location

If you create separate tags for your surnames, the tags become clickable links to pages of others who want to collaborate about that surname. With the surnames combined in a tag, that isn't possible. This link may help you Tags

Your Wiki Genealogy Feed will show the activity connected to the surnames and places relating to your tags.

If you're still a greeter, then I'd like your assistance and guidance. I finally retired several months ago and can turn my attention back to genealogy. I'll follow up your Tags suggestion from 4 years ago this coming weekend after I return home from my current trip. (We're visiting the oldest member of my wife's family who celebrates her 102nd birthday on Monday.)

Hi Thomas,

Sorry I am late responding to your message, congratulations on your retirement, I am no longer a greeter, but am still available to help you when needed.

I hope you had a good visit and I hope your wife's relative has more birthdays to come, 102 is a good age and hope she is well

Take care Karen 🤗

Welcome Thomas

I am pleased to confirm and welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.

I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site

Happy tree climbing

Learning to navigate. Links for parents in public & private profile don't seem to be operational. Perhaps I should wait a day or two before attempting them again.

I am curious if "Tom Atkins" or "Thomas Atkins" shows on the Public side. I'd prefer the "Thomas Atkins".

Corrn: For internal uses, I prefer "Tom". For info that viewed publicly, I prefer to be known as "Thomas". Hopefully I'm clear this time.

Hi Thomas,

My apologies, the email to let me know you had commented on your profile has only just turned up. I have now confirmed you so you can start creating profiles for your parents and other family members. On the public side your profile shows up as Tom B. I shall edit my messages on here to Thomas

Take care Karen
