The only record found of Peter Asten is that of the marriage intention on 24 May 1813, of Betsey Boardman of Livermore, Maine, and Peter Asten of Jay, Maine, (both towns were then in Massachusetts).[1] Given the date of that intention, 1788 is a reasonable estimate for his birth date.
