Biography
Adalbert II Askanier was a member of the aristocracy in Europe.
Adalbert II von Ballenstedt was the son of Esiko von Ballenstedt and his wife Mathilde, possibly but disputed von Schwaben,[1] his birth being recorded by the Annalista Saxo.[2] He married, before 28 October 1074,[3] Adelheid von Weimar, and had issue:
- Otto "der Reiche", Graf von Ballenstedt
- Siegfried, Graf von Orlamünde.
He was killed by "Egeno iunior de Conradesburch", son of Burchard,[4] between 1076 and 1083.[5]
