Albrecht I Aschersleben was a member of the aristocracy in Europe.
Biography
Albert I (Albrecht), duke of Saxony, was the son of Bernhard III von Ballenstedt, duke of Saxony, and Judyta of Poland. He succeeded as duke of Saxony in 1212. He was married three times:
- in 1222 to Agnes of Austria, daughter of Leopold VI.
- after 1229 in Acre to Agnes of Thuringia, widow of Heinrich "der Grausame" of Austria.
- after 1244 to Helene von Brauschweig-Lüneburg[1].
Died 8 November 1260, buried Lehnin Kloster, Brandenburg, Prussia

Herzog von Sachsen-1 and Aschersleben-23 appear to represent the same person because: Now that Herzog_von_Sachsen-1 has been fixed, those two finally appear as duplicates. Herzog_von _Sachsen-1 was initially attached to Agnes of Thuringia as wife (currently only attached to the duplicate, Aschersleben-23); I initially disconnected her, then found that Herzog_von_Sachsen-1's parents were incorrect, not his wife. The profile is fixed now and can be merged.
