Biography

The son of Jacob Wilbur Arnold (1855-1932) and Capitola DeLance Bortle (1859-1930), Howard Arnold was born in Perinton Township, New York^{[citation needed]} in 1881, residing with his family in 1900 in Macedon Township, New York.^[1] His siblings included:

2. Sarah Emaline Arnold (1893-1976)

Howard married Adelaide (Barker) Arnold, marrying in Macedon Center, New York on his bride's 21st birthday, March 7, 1906,^{[citation needed]} having five known children together, and making their home in Macedon Township, New York where, in 1910, Howard Arnold worked on a home farm as a laborer.^[2][3]

Howard registered for the World War I draft when he was 36, registering in Rochester, New York on September 12, 1918.^[4] He stated that lived on Route 1 in Fairport, New York and that he worked for himself, farming in Fairport Howard was described as a man of medium height and build with brown hair and eyes. He did not enlist and continued to live and work in Fairport.^[5]

Widowed in 1921, after his wife's death at the age of 34, Howard remarried, marrying Marie Josephine Oestricke (1881-1952), the daughter of John Oestriche and Sophia Schroeder, marrying in Monroe County, New York on July 15, 1922/^[6] Marie Oestricke had been married previously to William Fluker (1880-), having two children with him. Howard and Marie, and their children, made their home in Macedon Township, New York where, in 1930, Howard owned and operated an automobile repair shop.^[7][8] By 1950, residing in Macedon, Howard worked in a canning factory.^[9]

Howard Arnold passed away in Macedon, New York^[10] at the age of 85 and is buried at Macedon Center Cemetery in Macedon, New York.^[11]
