Biography
William Louis Armstrong served in the 55th Alabama Infantry Regiment, Company I during the American Civil War.[1]

Son of William C Armstrong and Hannah Denton Lucas. Husband of Mary Frances Osborn.[2]
Company I, 55th Alabama Infantry, Confederate States Army. Enlisted in 1863, Jackson, Mississippi. Served with Johnson and Hood during Georgia campaign. Battles: New Hope Church, Kennesaw Mountain, Franklin and Nashville, Tenn. Captured at Nashville and was a prisoner of war when Lee surrendered. Joined Robert E Lee Camp #158 in February 1906. Awarded Southern Cross of Honor 1908.

William Louis Armstrong passed away in 1924. Final resting place in Oakwood Cemetery, Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas.[1]
