George was the son of John Arelger (born 1801, Hessia Darmstadt) and Catharina Webber (born 1801, Hessia Darmstadt).[2] His sister was Elizabeth born 1830, Hessia Darmstadt.
On 28 October 1866, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, George Arhelger married Fredericke Wittig (1843-1919), the daughter of Frederick Wittig and Maria Karzhauls.[3]

Lydia Liddie Arhelger born 16 November 1868, Friendship, Wisconsin, died 12 November 1921, Racine, Wisconsin. She was married in 1896 to William Fred Zager (1867-1955)[9]
Charles Arhelger born 1871, Wisconsin, died 7 December 1957, Tennessee.[10] He married Mathilda B. Meyer (1870-1958).
Fredrick Arhelger born 1873, Wisconsin, married in 1898, Louisa Woller.[11]
Edward Theodore Arhelger born 19 March 1875, Friendship, Wisconsin, died 7 March 1963, Wisconsin. He was married in 1905 to Emma Pauline Bratsch (1883-1959) Twin [12]
Ida "Iddie" Arhelger born 19 March1875, Wisconsin, Twin. In 1900 was living in the household of her sister Lydia.[13] She was still alive in 1910.
Rev. Louis Frank Arhelger born in July 1879, Wisconsin, died in 1937, Wisconsin. He was married to Gladys Ella Stowe (1891-1962)[14][15]
William Henrich Arhelger born 18 December 1883, died September 1963, Wisconsin. He was married to Emma Rosa Raehl (1885-1969)[16][17]
