Thomas was born in about 1894. He was probably the son of William Thomas Archer and Ethel Collins.
When the 2nd World War broke out he was single, working as a labourer at Ngahape, Te Kawa, New Zealand. He enlisted and served as a Private with the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, Third Echelon. His next of kin was recorded as Mrs E. Archer (mother), Ngaroma, New Zealand. Service No. 29485
In the 1946 NZ electoral rolls he was working as a Farmhand in Ngaroma Road, Te Awamutu.
He married Vera Rosina Bray Dix in 1946.
Sadly Vera died in 1947 at the age of 34.
Thomas probably died in 1971 at the age of 75.
