Biography

Grace was born in 1817. She is the daughter of John Andrewartha and Sarah Whitford^[1]

She married Joseph Whitford in 1836^[2] Their children were-

1. Eliza 1837-1880
2. William 1838-1858
3. Joseph 1840-1879
4. Cecilia 1842-1854
5. Grace 1843- 1851
6. Thomas 1846-infant death

Joseph passed away in 1847 and all of their children died young.

In 1851 she is a widow in Phillack working as a charwoman.^[3].

She remarried to Samuel Hockham a railway worker, in 1852 in Redruth. Their children were-
