Welcome was born in 1893. He was the son of Thomas Andrew and Mary Picken. [1][2]

His parents were early residents of the Scottish Settlement at Argyle, Illinois.

Welcome enlisted in the Students Army Training Core and was trained at the Radio School in Evanston Illinois during World War I. [3][4][5]

He farmed the family farm. He never married. [6]

Welcome passed away in 1927.[7]

WELCOME ANDREW OF ARGYLE DIES

Welcome Andrew, son of pioneers of the Argyle settlement, died late Monday night at the Swedish-American Hospital, Rockford, where he underwent an operation last Friday. He was born January 3, 1893, in the Andrew homestead, north of Argyle.

His father, Thomas, died five years ago. He is survived by his mother, a brother, Thomas, of Argyle; and five sisters, Misses Beth and Dorthy and Margaret, at home, Mrs. C.W. Johns, of Pearson, Iowa, and Mrs. Ray Ralston, of Argyle. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Roscoe and Walter R. Craig post of the American Legion.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Willow Creek church at Argyle. The Rev. Edgar W. Smith will officiate and burial will be in the WIll Creek Church Cemetery. [8]
