Biography
Nicholas George "Nick" Andre, son of Frank Florian Andre and Loreda Brandu, was born February 1, 1929 in East Chicago, Lake, Indiana. He married Phyllis June Marshall on December 3, 1948 in Weatherford, Parker, Texas. Nicholas died March 27, 2016 in Dyer, Lake, Indiana and was buried in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Lake, Indiana[1].

Nicholas George Andre, 87, of Dyer, passed away Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at home.
He is survived by Phyllis, his wife, of 67 years; daughter, Carolyn (Ray) Birk, sons: Scott (Gerri), Joel (Mary), Dan, Nick (Donna), 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, and a sister, Nancy (Bill) Wozniak.
Preceded in death by: daughter, Christine (Denny) Privat, brother, Florian (Darlene) Andre, and parents Florian and Loreda Andre.
Nick was born in East Chicago, IN and raised in the Calumet region. He graduated from Washington High School. He joined the Army Air Force in 1946 and served for three years. Upon leaving the military he returned home to work at Inland Steel, retiring with 40 years of service. After retiring Nick loved to read, garden, fish, and travel. Many winters he and Phyllis spent winter months in Englewood, Florida. Nick was a member of the Dyer United Methodist Church. He was a member of Indian Harbor Masonic Lodge #686, Highland, IN for over 50 years.
Visitation will be held at the Dyer United Methodist Church Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
