Biography

John was born in 1865. He was the son of John and Margaret Anderson. (Also buried in Havelock North. Not Isabella or Grace - birth record has not been found.)

He married Alice Maude Armstrong in 1904. Their children were:

1. Louisa Margaret (Collins)
2. John^[1]

He passed away in 1936 and is buried in Havelock North Cemetery..

The death took place yesterday of Mr John Anderson, of 517 Fitzroy Avenue, Hastings, at the age of 71 years. The late Mr Anderson, who was born at Wyndham (South Island), was the eldest son of Mr John Anderson, of Poporangi Station. He was educated at the Napier Boys’ High School. After he left school he assisted his father in the management of Poporangi Station. In 1904 he married Miss Armstrong, of Wanganui, and shortly afterwards he was obliged to live in Hastings on account of ill-health and he resided there until his death. He leaves a widow, one son, Mr John Anderson, of Waipukurau, one daughter, Mrs A. B. Collins, of Pepper street, Hastings, and two sisters, Mrs M. T. Munro and Miss Anderson, of Poporangi Station.^[2]
