Vincent Anderson was born between 1803 and 1806 in Virginia.
On April 8, 1830, he married Sophia Taylor in East Fallowfield. In the 1830 census Vincent was in West Fallowfield, Chester, Pennsylvania.[1] They had at least four sons, the oldest of whom was Osborne Perry Anderson, sole survivor of John Brown's raid on Harpers Ferry, Virginia. In the 1840 census Vinson was in East Caln, Chester, Pennsylvania.[2] In the 1850 census Vincent (age 44), laborer, was in West Goshen, Chester, Pennsylvania, United States.[3] In the 1860 census Vince (age 50), Day Laborer, was in West Chester, Chester, Pennsylvania.[4] In the 1870 census Vincent (age 65), working In quarry, was in West Chester, Chester, Pennsylvania.[5]
Vincent Anderson was admitted to the Chester County Almshouse on January 31, 1879, with pneumonia,[6] and he died 21 days later, on February 21, 1879. He was buried in Chester County Almshouse Cemeteries in Newlin Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States.[7]
