John S. Anderson was born March 29, 1843 in Marion Township, Hancock County, County, Ohio, the son of Samuel Anderson and Margaret Short. The month and year are presented as 1842 in the 1900 Census.[1] All other life records indicate a birth year of 1843. The sequence of children in the family suggests 1843 as a more logical conclusion. The specific day of his birth is presented in his Findagrave record. It appears to be undocumented.[2]
