Tombstones

As of 1978, the stones for Elza and Nancy were broken in pieces according to records of Effie Anderson Bergdahl. There are no longer any stone left to mark their graves.

Common Errors

Andrew J Anderson who lived with them in many census was not their son. Alexander would have been 15 and wasn't married for another 7 years after Andrew was born. Alexander's brother, Taliaferro Anderson and Nancy's sister Mary Hitt, were married in 1809 in Fauquier County, Virginia, both died before 1820. Andrew J was their son. Alexander and Taliaferro's father Elijah took the son in during the 1820 census, but from 1830 onward he was living with Alexander and Nancy, they being the closest family to Andrew J.

Elijah "Eli" G Anderson, is also sometimes confused as a child, however he is not. His father was Thomas Anderson. He is not related to this family at all.
