Robert Amphlett was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)
William was the son of Joseph Amphlett and Mary O'Keefe, and was born on 21st October 1885 in Rathdowne Street North, Melbourne, Victoria (Australia). [1]
From about 1915 to about 1925, William entered into a de facto relationship with Meta Tanner nee Stark, who had already been divorced and a failed de facto relationship. They had five children: [2]
Aged 67 years and ten days, William died on 31st October 1952 in Prince Henry Hospital, South Melbourne, Victoria, due to a pulmonary embolus (1 day), femoral vein thrombosis (1 month) and arterioschlerotic heart disease of 10 years duration. He was buried in Fawkner Cemetery. [2][8]
