Research Notes

In a Justices Itinerant assize record on 26 July 1329 his widow, at that time Elizabeth de Burgh, states that Sir Roger was survived by Margaret and Elizabeth as "daughters and heirs" and Margaret is listed first. Douglas Richardson makes this correction to his previous works in a soc.genealogy.medieval Google Group discussion in October of 2018.

Cannot have been born at Sandal, Yorkshire, Vauxhall, Surrey, England. Those are 2 separate places in 2 separate counties. Place of birth needs to be removed. And, actually, those are 2 places he was given after the Battle of Bannockburn for his services.

no idea where theplace of birth came from, only able to find one source of place and that in a dubious find a grave see https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/80314330/roger-damory.

Even that is neither of the two mentioned places, suggest we remove the Place of birth unless someone has a decent source

Roger cannot have been born in two counties namely Yorkshire and Surrey!

I think we are using the father from a very old and impossible pedigree. See for example the Wikipedia article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_d%27Amory where Roger's father is Robert
