Birth

Emma Robinson Ambrose was born on 20 Jan 1846, the daughter of Samuel Ambrose and Henrietta Greeley. Her birth is shown in the vital records of Livermore, Maine,^[1] but the 1893 history of Industry, Maine says that she was born at Readfield, Maine.^[2] She was probably born at Readfield with her birth recorded at Livermore after her parents moved there.

Marriages

1. The 1882 history of DuPage County, Illinois, says that Emma R. Ambrose, daughter of Rev. Samuel and Henrietta (Greeley) Ambrose, married R[ichard] Oldfield, as his second wife, and was living in 1882 at Downers Grove, Illinois.^[3] A gravestone at the Main Street Cemetery Downers Grove says that Richard Oldfield died in 1884.^[4]
2. The 1893 history of Industry, Maine, says that Emma R. Ambrose married James L. Holley and was living in 1893 at Garden Grove, California.^[2] On 30 Mar 1886, Emma R. Oldfield and James L. Holley were married in DuPage County, Illinois.^[5]

Emma Robinson (Ambrose) (Oldfield) Holley was probably the Emma Holley whose death was recorded in Orange County, California, on 22 Nov 1923, with her age at her death shown as 77.^[6]
