Sergeant Bernard Althoff served in the United States Army in World War I

Sergeant Bernard Althoff was Wounded in Action during World War I.
He was the 11th of 12 children. He helped his father out with the farm and for a time lived in the household of his sister Bessie and her spouse.
He moved to Ohio working in an insurance firm. He enlisted and was sent to Camp Sheridan and then on to Camp Lee in Virginia. In June of 1918 he sailed to France.

Sergeant Althoff was wounded in action [1], he is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA[2][3]
