Biography
Dora (Allison) Andrews was born in Appalachia, in Tennessee.
Dora M. Allison (married names Shoemate, then Andrews) was born on 7 April 1860 in Bledsoe County, Tennessee, United States, the daughter of Melvina Allison and Robert B. Allison.[1]
She married, firstly, to William Bonner Shoemate.[1] Their children were:[1]
- Hallie Lee Shoemate (1877–1965)
- Nellie Grace Shoemate (1886–1942)
- Robert Allison Shoemate (1892–1971)
- four more children
William died in 1894.[1]
Dora remarried on 20 October 1900 in Bosque County, Texas, to Finley Clinton Andrews.[1] Their son was:[1]
- Finley D. Andrews
Dora died in August 1924 in Gainesville, Cooke County, Texas.[1]
