Dalton Allen was born in Broughton, Illinois on the 13th of Sep 1905[1] to William Allen and Rhonda Crouse.

He died on the 24th of June, 1970[1] and he would be buried in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw, Michigan[6]

Well known Saginaw dentist passed away at his home, Wednesday morning, Jun e24 1970, following a lengthy illness. Age 64 years. He was born Sept 13, 1905 in Broughton, Illinois and graduated from Creighton University at Omaha, Nebraska in 1936, and on graduation was made a member of Omicron Kappa Epsilon National Dental Honor Fraternity. After graduation he came to Saginaw and established his dental practice and had practiced continuously since that time except for four years he served with the US Army in the European Theater of operations during WWII and receiving the Bronze Star and the Citation of Merit. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and was a vestryman for nine years and was a senior warden for two years. He was a member of Saginaw Lodge No 47, BPOE and a past member of the Fordney Club and the Pioneer Club, a member of the American Michigan, Saginaw Valley and Saginaw County Dental Associations. He was an avid rose enthusiast and was one of the organizers and a past president of the Greater Saginaw Rose Society and the organization and past president of the Saginaw Rosarians. Largely through his efforts the Saginaw Municipal Rose Garden was established. He was also vice-president and editor for the American Rose Magazine for the Great Lakes District of the American Rose Society. He married Marie Osterbeck July 4, 1930 in Phoenix Arizona. She survives him. He also leaves one daughter, Ruth Allen, East Lansing; three brothers and one sister, Sherman, Vernon and Clyde Allen, all living in Nebraska; Mrs. VD Barr, Phoenix Arizona; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will take place 3pm Friday at St. John's Episcopal Church. Rev Charles M. Stuart and Rev Starr Cline will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Case Chapel, 409 Adams St from 3pm to 9pm Thursday and from 10am until noon on Friday. Those who desire, may give memorials to the Saginaw Rose Garden Fund.
