Edward Allen was a Mainer.

Edward Allen is a part of US Black heritage.

Edward was born in 1842. He was the son of Frederick Allen and Clymenia Higgins.^[1]

He is found in the 1880 US Census for Eden, Maine, listed as head of household, a married mulatto sea captain. His wife Izora F. Allen and 11-year-old daughter Laura Allen, are both listed as white, born in Massachusetts.^[2]

He passed away in 1916.

Notes

Edward's wife and daughter do not appear in the 1870 Census with Edward, perhaps because he was a sailor and they resided elsewhere. Profiles and sources needed for Izora and Laura. (Unable to find in Family Search, other than the 1880 Census cited here.)
