PRISONER's DEFENCE.
I am innocent of the affair; after I had fetched some raspberry and gin, she gave me six-pence for a pot of half and half; when I returned, she was crying upon the stairs, and said she was robbed; I went and looked after the young woman till Monday night; when I returned, they stopped me.
GUILTY, Of stealing to the value of 10 s.

Tried by the first Middlesex Jury before Mr. Baron HOTHAM .

Susannah was embarked on the Prince of Wales at Portsmouth on 3 May 1787. The Prince of Wales arrived in Sydney Cove, New South Wales in January 1788 as part of the First Fleet.[2]

Susannah died in childbirth on 17 October 1789 bearing Rebecca, child of the marine private John Brown (there were two marine privates named John Brown in the First Fleet). Her burial was recorded in the register of St Philip's: Susannah "Allein", buried 17 October 1789.[3] On 24 October magistrates Captain Collins and Captain Hunter decided that the child was to be given to Francis Davies to care for, and she would be allowed to keep the child for as long as she did justice to it. The baby was christened Rebekah Allen the following day. Susannah's clothes were divided between her and Mary Pinter. The child, Rebekah, was buried on 9 February 1790.[2][4][5]
