In 1870, James (age 50) and his wife Daffney were farming in Brunswick in Glynn county, Georgia. They had 7 children between the ages of 3 and 18 living with them. Also in residence was 70-year-old Amanda Alexander.[2]
In 1880, Alex and Daphney Alexander were farming in Glynn County. Four of their children remained at home.[3]
In his will, signed on October 7, 1891, Alex Alexander left his estate, including 15 acres of land to his wife, Daphney Alexander. Other heirs named in the will:[4]
