David was born 19 October 1915 in Warm Springs, Bath, Virginia. He was the son of Russel Alexander and Esta Lee Thomas.[1]
David was the pilot of the B-24 Liberator bomber, Flak Alley (41-24225-T), participating in Operation Tidal Wave the low-level attack on the Romanian oil refineries at Ploesti on 1 August 1943.
He passed away 1 September 1985 in South Carolina.[2]
