Horace Aldrich was born on December 03, 1836 in Moira, Franklin, New York, United States. His parents were Welcome Aldrich and Betsey Hale. He died on May 31, 1889 in Arkansas, United States

Information was received recently of the Death of Captain H. L. Aldrich, editor and publisher of the Western Insurance Review of St. Louis at Hillsdale, Kas. Captain Aldrich had been ill for more than a year, much of the time suffering most intensely from what was probably cancer of the stomach.[1][2][3]

H , August 27, 1862; as first lieutenant, April 16, 1863; promoted captain, Co. B , July 9, 1864, and mustered in as such, December 1, 1864; transferred to Co. H , February 26, 1865; discharged, June 22. 1865, near Washington, D. C ; borne on war register as Aldridge. Commissioned second lieutenant, September 10 , 1862 , with rank from August 16, 1862, original; first lieutenant, March 27, .1863, with rank from March 16, 1863, vice E . Wilbur, promoted; captain, July 20, 1864, with rank from July 9, 1864, vice A . J . Hooker, killed in action.[4]
