Biography

Joseph Alcock immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Joseph Alcock was born March 30, 1635 in Mancetter, Warwickshire, the son of John and Elizabeth Alcock (née Wrightman). [1][2]

The fifth child and third son in the family, Joseph immigrated to New England with his family in 1638, where he died on July 30, 1676 in Kittery, Maine.[3]

Joseph Alcock, the "eldest son" signed the submission at York, 1652, with his father and "Sam Alcocke" which may be taken as good evidence that he had arrived at his majority, and was born as early as 1630. He was a servant of militia in 1659, and died before Oct 2, 1678, leaving a widow Abigail, and an estate which was administered by his brother-in-law John Twisden.[4]
