Ellen, daughter of Olivo Albertini & Ellie Stanker, was born on 26 November 1913 in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania.^[3]

Ellen studied piano and dance from the age of 5.

In the 1920 census Ellen (age 6) was the daughter of Oliver Albertini in Northumberland, Pennsylvania, United States.^[4]

In the 1930 census Ellen (age 16) was the single daughter of Oliver Albertini in Mount Carmel, Northumberland, Pennsylvania, United States.^[5]

In the 1940 census Ellen (age 25) was the single head of household in New York City, New York County, New York, United States.^[6]

Ellen had both a B.A. and M.A. in theatre from Cornell University, where she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority's Omega Chi chapter.

In 1951, Ellen married Eugene Francis Dow Jr.^[7] They did not have children.

Ellen taught at Pierce College with her husband.

Ellen died on 4 May 2015, in Woodland Hills, California.^[8]
