AKANS, WILLIAM.—Age, 18 years. Enlisted, July 28, 1862, at Lisbon, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. B , August 27, 1862; discharged with detachment, June 21, 1863, from Mount Pleasant Hospital, Washington, D . C .[4]
In battle of Fairmont, there taken prisoner paroled to September 1 1863. Returned to Regt., in all Battles with Regt. In summer of 1864 taken prisoner and taken to Andersonville and died there.
