Stanley Stephen Akers was born in Murwillumbah, New South Wales on 13 Aug 1900.

He was an orchardist in Burringbar NSW on the 1943 Australian Electoral Roll.

Stanley Stephen Akers served in World War 2 with the Australian Army, Service Number: N438249, attaining the rank of Corporal. He enlisted on 10 July 1942 at Murwillumbah, New South Wales. His last posting was 1 BATTALION VOLUNTEER DEFENCE CORPS PART TIME DUTY and was released from service on 24 September 1945. [1]

Stanley Stephen Akers passed away in August 1997 in northern New South Wales Australia. He is buried in the Mullumbimby Cemetery. [2]

Research Notes

On the original profile there was a comment:

Stanley Stephen Akers had enlisted in the Australian Army on the 10th of July 1942 at MURWILLUMBAH, in northern New South Wales and served long enough (at least until the end of the war) to become a Corporal; so is probably not the same Stanley Akers listed above.

However, the birth date on the DVA site is the same, and given that the duty was part time in the Volunteer Defence Corps, it is most likely the same person.
