Biography

Samuel is the son of Andrew Agnew and Ann Cowan born about 1802. This Samuel Agnew married Sarah "Sallie" Anderson date unknown.
Samuel passed away about 1864 in Abbeville, South Carolina, according to his Will. Please take note that Samuel names his wife and 5 children in his will and should not be confused with the Samuel Agnew who married Margaret. See Research Notes.

It is possible that Samuel married Margaret first, if she died after 1850 census and Samuel then married Sarah Anderson, since his wife is listed as Sarah in the will. Sarah / Sallie is not referred to as the mother of his mentioned children in the will and he states that the kitchen table that she brought into the marriage is to be retained by her.
