Biography

Maude (Adkins) Belcher was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

Maude was born in 1907 at Ashcamp, Kentucky. She was the daughter of William Henry Adkins and Mary J. Potter.

Maude married Jack Emmett Belcher (1893-1978) on May 2, 1927. Jack and Maude had at least 3 children together before they were married and before he had divorced his 1st wife.

She passed away in December of 1956 at Pikeville Methodist Hospital from lung cancer. She was 49 years old at the time of her death. She was laid to rest in the Belcher Lot of the Elkhorn City Cemetery in Elkhorn City, Kentucky.
