Biography

Alice Adams age 18, with her parents Charles (46) and Mary (48) and brothers Harry (16) Frank (14) Percy (9), from St Albans, Hertfordshire, emigrated to Australia on the S.S. Orient, departing on 12 Jul 1883, they stopped in Melbourne before the family went to Tasmania. [1] [2]

IMMIGRANTS.
August 28.
The S.S. Orient will arrive at Melbourne this afternoon with more immigrants, all of which will be transhipped to the S.S. Esk, and brought direct to here. The Launceston contingent will be despatched per train immediately upon arrival. [3]

She married Laurence Constable Leech on 3 Jan 1888 in Launceston, Tasmania. [4]

LEECH - ADAMS. On 3rd January, at the residence of the bride's parents, Rockhall, Trevallyn, by the Rev. H. Wood, Lawrence C. Leech, to Alice, youngest daughter of Charles Adams, Esq., late of Kilburn, England. (Kilburn papers please copy). [5]

Her fathers Will in 1920 mentions Alice lived Campbellfield Victoria which is also where her father died.

She passed away age 57 in Fitzroy South, Victoria. [6]


Death Notice "The Age" and "The Argus" newspapers 11th December 1922 says late of Campbellfield, formerly of Dromana and Scottsdale Tas. Funeral to leave her daughters residence (Mrs Williams) of Sutherland St Coburg for Fawkner Cemetery.

Buried Fawkner Cemetery CofE C Grave 12 with her husband Laurence.
