William Adams was born in Elm, Cambridgeshire, England abt. 1821^{[1][2] [3]} and christened April 30, 1822.^[4] He is the son of William Adams (b. abt. 1799) of March, Cambridgeshire and Mary L. Gray^[1][4]

William married Sarah ROBINSON in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England October 29th, 1844..^[5] Sarah was born abt. 1824^[6] to 1827 in Winterton, Lincolnshire to William Robinson and unknown mother^[1][3][6]
