Biography

Mary Constance Adams was born 5 August 1829 in Hope Town, Abaco, Bahamas to Thomas Adams and Mary Elizabeth Roberts Adams.

She moved to Key Vacas, Florida with her family - and like the Roberts, the Johnsons, the Skeltons and other wreckers, her father affixed his name to a Memorial to the US Congress in February 1839 regarding the proposed establishment of a port of entry at Indian Key.

Mary Adams married, in August 1847, in Key West, Florida, Joseph Pilot Roberts, son of Benjamin Roberts and Charlotte Russell Roberts. They had children Benjamin, Joseph Pilot Jr., Richard, Mary Elizabeth, Thomas Henry, Samuel, and Robert Isaac McCook Roberts.

Mary Constance Adams Roberts passed away of yellow fever 25 October 1866 in Key West, Florida at 37 years of age. She was buried in the City Cemetery.
