Samuel Adams was born on 6 June 1717, in Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America, his father, Abraham Adams II, was 41 and his mother, Anna Longfellow, was 33. He married Mary Jewett on 26 November 1747, in Rowley, Essex, Massachusetts. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 8 May 1791, in Byfield, Newbury, Essex, Massachusetts, at the age of 73, and was buried in Byfield Cemetery, Georgetown, Essex, Massachusetts
He succeeded to the Homestead, Newbury-Byfield (Highfields), and is described as a shrewd businessman who acquired a large property. He went with four of his sons as soldiers in the war of the Revolution and his house was a rendezvous for all the patriots. He died 08 May 1791, aged 73 years. His widow died 17 November 1812 at the age of 90 years.
