Elizabeth was the daughter of John Acree and Elizabeth Starling. In 1810 she married Abraham Lake. They had ten children: Seany, Martha, Emily, Mary Ann, Elizabeth, Joseph, James, John Wood, Francis, and Sallie Levonia. When she died in 1861, she was buried in the Lake family plot at the Forsyth City Cemetery in Monroe County, Georgia.
