Francis Henry Ackroyd was born about 1886 in Prahran, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, son of Isabella Ada (Bunn) Ackroyd and Francis John Ackroyd.^[1]

He married Janet Armour Edna Murray Presley on 13 September 1913 at Christ Church in Darwin, Northern Territory.^[2] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}
