Biography

James Alan Abrahamson (born May 19, 1933) is a retired U.S. Air Force general who served as a designated astronaut, Associate Director of NASA and former director of President Ronald Reagan's Strategic Defense Initiative.

1933 Born in Williston, Williams, North Dakota, USA
1955 Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Joined the US Air Force. During his Air Force career, he was awarded the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
