Biography
Hattie (Abraham) Jackson is a part of US Black heritage.
Harriet was probably born October 24, 1924[1] in Louisiana, United States.[2] Her father may have been Lewis Unknown[3] and her mother was Harriet Gibson.[1]
Harriet had at least four siblings and six children (see Research Notes).
In 1870, Harriet (shown as Hariet, age 28) lived in Chambers County, Texas, United States with children Amanda Chambers (shown as Amanda Abraham, age 7), William Clay (shown as William Abraham, age 3), and Frank Clay (shown as Frank Abraham, age 0). James Charles (age 24), Hagar Charles (age 25), Lydia Charles (age 10), John Charles (age 6), Andrew Charles (age 4), and Bartlett Charles (age 2) also lived with the family. Harriet and Hagar were domestic servants and James was a farm laborer.[4]
In 1880, Harriet (shown as Harriett Jackson, age 38) lived in Turtle Bayou, Chambers, Texas, United States with Stonewall Jackson (age 35) and their daughter Pauline (age 4). Harriett's children Amanda Chambers (shown as Manda, age 15), William Clay (age 12), Frank Clay (age 11), Annie Clay (age 6), and Vina Clay (age 5) also lived with them. Stonewall was a coal burner.[5]
Harriet married Stonewall Jackson December 8, 1881 in Chambers, Texas, United States.[6]
Harriet was a widowed housekeeper when she died of arterosclerosis (sic) April 20, 1924 in Hankamer, Chambers, Texas, United States. She was buried April 22, 1924.[1]
