Berryman was the son of Robert and Sarah (Nichols) Abernethy, he married Rebecca Derr after the bond date of May 1, 1824,[1] who was deceased by the United States 1850 Census.[2]
Beryman and Rebecca Abernathy had at least the following children;
Lorenzo Dow Abernathy born abt 1832.
Gideon Abernathy born abt 1836.
George Abernathy born abt 1838.
Robert Abernathy born about 1839.
Lincoln County, NC Estate Papers of Robert Abernathy, died 1832, state that Turner T. and Berryman Abernathy, sons of Robert Abernathy, relinquish their rights of Administration on their father's estate. Their mother, Sarah Abernathy, does the same.
