Biography

Maria Catharina was born October 27, 1728 and baptized the next day on October 29 in Münzesheim. She was the second daughter of Johannes Adam Abel and Anna Fechlin Abel to be called Maria Catharina. The first Catharina had died on April 26, 1724.[1][2]

Immigration

She migrated in 1732 aboard the Loyal Judith with her family at the age of 4. Only her father, John Adam Abel and her brother Hans Jacob Abel were listed. She and her mother, Anna, were assumed to be on board.[3]

Marriage and Family

She is named on the deed selling Michael and her property on the Schuylkill River to John Old.[4]

Death

She died on July 1, 1785 and is buried in the Arndts and Messinger Cemetery, Forks Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, USA.
