Sid Abel is Notable.
Sidney was born 22 Feb 1918[1].
Hockey Career
Abel joined the Red Wings in 1938 after playing junior hockey with the Flin Flon Bombers. He was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in 1952 and named coach of the team[2].
Sid was coach of the Detroit Red Wings NHL team. [3]
The Detroit Red Wings retired his #12 jersey after he died.[4]

Abel was drafted 16 Oct 1940[5].
Family Life
Sidney married Gloria in 1943 in Michigan[6].
Death
He passed away in 2000[7][8] from Cancer.
He is buried at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia, Wayne County, Michigan, USA[9]
