Sorry for the mess up on Asa Ingall's profile ... thanks for fixing that typo I made. So far, I can't find information on Mehitable Loring.

Bob, not a problem. I believe, but am not certain, that Mehitable Loring was the widow Mehitable Bennet (widow of John Bennett). Mehitable's first husband was supposed to be a master mariner lost at sea. See Saco Valley Settlements, Volume 2, p 752; https://archive.org/details/sacovalleysettle00ridl/page/752/mode/2up

If that is accurate (and there seem to be some confusions in the Saco Valley source, that would make Mehitable the daughter of John Loring and Anna Davis. The marriage of Mehitable Loring and John Bennett is recorded in 1802.

Hi Patricia.

Seems we are related through the Holt line!

Barbara, it seems with are both seventh great granddaughters of Elizabeth (Harnden) Abbott and in the 11th generation of descendants of Nicholas Holt. The wiki relationship finder tells me we have 212 common ancestors that currently have wikitree profiles. So I guess we are related!

Hi Patricia

Thank you for adding a GEDCOM. The GEDCOM does not automatically populate your tree it generates a GEDCOMpare report which you work through either accepting or rejecting suggested matches, once that has been done, you add any remaining names manually.

The GEDCOMpare process guide has tips on how to use the data in your file most efficiently.

If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, let us know by using the "reply" link under our comments, or by clicking our names to visit our profiles. From there, you can leave a comment, or send a private message.

Hi Patricia,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
